American Sign Language (ASL)

At DeafLEAD, we hope to help parents with Deaf children learn American Sign Language (ASL) which in turn will help them give their children exposure to language. 90% of Deaf children have hearing parents, which can affect language access. Learning ASL guarantees a way for people to communicate.

We also have resources featuring Pro-Tactile (PTASL), the DeafBlind tactile sign language.

Our Resources are Open to Everyone

Though they may be focused on assisting parents, our resources are free and open to anyone who has a genuine desire to learn. We encourage anyone who wants to connect with the Deaf community to utilize these resources.

It can be easy to get discouraged when you are learning a new language like ASL, and feel like you aren’t good enough.

Please remember, if you are trying, you are more than good enough.
